Meet Dr Michael Horan MD, DDS, PhD

Dr. Horan grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and found his way to Cleveland via John Carroll University where he graduated Cum Laude with his undergraduate degree in 1997.            While at John Carroll, he played 4 years of varsity football and was awarded multiple Collegiate All-Conference Scholar Awards.

Mike then attended The Ohio State University where he was accepted in to the Dental Scientist Training Program. In 2004 he completed his PhD dissertation in Oral and Craniofacial Biology and in 2006 he graduated Magna Cum Laude becoming the first DDS/PhD to matriculate through The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.

Dr Horan received his medical degree (MD) from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2009 and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospitals of Cleveland in 2011.            Currently, he is the Director of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.            He has also been appointed to the faculty at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, and is an active in pre-doctoral and resident education as an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Horan has received numerous professional awards including            the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Surgery Certificate of Merit and also the American Academy of Oral Medicine Certificate of Merit.            He has also published numerous articles, abstracts and book chapters.

Dr. Horan brings to our practice a passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery that includes dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic and pre-prosthetic surgery, TMJ Treatment, implant dentistry, adjunctive implant procedures including hard and soft tissue surgery as well as facial cosmetic procedures including Botox and dermal collagen fillers.

Dr. Horan and his wife Julie are east side residents and together have two daughters Sidney (5) and Chloe (4).
